Bowery Boys Talks at the Montauk Club presented by Bowery Boys Walks:

Travel back in time to one of America’s most fascinating, frightening and misunderstood moments in history – with a very personal perspective

Join Carl Raymond, host of The Gilded Gentleman history podcast for a truly unique look at the Salem Witch Trials of 1692 with a unique perspective and point of view – his own.  Carl is a direct descendant of a number of the players in the Salem Witch Trials including two of the accused and executed “witches” and one of the magistrates who helped convict them.

In this illustrated talk,  he will discuss not only his journey to discover his ancestry but will delve deeply into just what exactly happened in Puritan Massachusetts in 1692 that resulted in the accusations of nearly 200 people and the executions and deaths of 25 completely innocent people and why it all still fascinated us today.

This talk will include archival images but also numerous contemporary photos of sites in and around Salem that relate to the Trials that one can visit today.
